Training and Player Development
All players are encouraged to develop their abilities though a combination of coaching and match experience. The Club provides a number of coaches to assist all the team mangers and provide regular sessions revolving around drills to develop player skills, awareness and. Fitness. Training sessions are also held midweek evenings for u9’s teams and above.
Applications for new developer members (u7’s and u8’s) are usually taken two months prior to the start of each season, these places are usually heavily subscribed and a priority of accepting siblings of existing members is given. Places also occasionally become available in our older teams and these are open during the relevant transfer windows. Enquiries for new members can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. These enquiries should include the players name, date of birth, parents contact details and soccer history with previous teams if appropriate.
Beechwood FC has grown consistently since its formation and now consists of over 450 boys and girls from u7’s to Senior Level.
The Club follows the FAI Player Development Plan, where the junior team play small-sided games in non-competitive leagues which take place on Saturday mornings. The older age groups play 11-a-side in competitive leagues on either Saturdays or Sundays. In addition the Club runs a developers programme for members (boys and girls) on Saturday mornings in Royal Hospital Donnybrook which is an introduction to the basics of football for u7’s and or u8’s. The players train at least once a week in addition to fixtures and each team has access to our qualified club coaches who assist each of the team managers.
